The Ashanti Region's Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi, has little potential for constructive growth, according to gospel musician Ernest Opoku Jr. He emphasises that the region is largely known for the trade of illegal narcotics, including cocaine and marijuana.
On September 24, 2023, Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay) interviewed Ernest Opoku, and during the interview, Opoku said, “That's where they sell all the weed and cocaine.”
Ernest Opoku talked about the struggles he and his family had growing up, including an eight-year stint working as a shoemaker. In addition, he described sharing a home for a further eight years with gospel musician Oware Junior. This circumstance happened as a result of his family being left out of his father's will.
“There's nothing better at Krofrom. That's where they sell weed, cocaine, and stuff. For Krofrom, nothing good comes from there,” he repeated, adding, “I used to stay at Krofrom C-Line with Oware Junior.” He said this in the interview.
