Sadio Mané

Sadio Mané (born 10 April 1992) is a Senegalese professional footballer known for his pressing, dribbling, and speed skills. Born to Guinean parents in Bambali, Sédhiou, Senegal, Mané wished for a football career but was forbade from playing as a child due to his father's imam's prohibition. At 15, he ran away with the help of a childhood friend, Luc Djiboune, and moved to Dakar to pursue his ambition.

Mané began his professional career with Ligue 2 club Metz at 19 but later joined Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2012 for €4 million. He later transferred to English club Southampton for £11.8 million, where he set a new Premier League record for the fastest hat-trick in 2015.

Mané signed for Liverpool in 2016, becoming the most expensive African player in history at that time. He formed a formidable attacking trio with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, helping the team reach back-to-back UEFA Champions League Finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter. He also finished as the league's joint-top goalscorer in the 2018–19 season, winning the Premier League Golden Boot.

Mané has been recognized for his scoring prowess at international level, with 38 goals in 99 appearances since his debut in 2012. He represented Senegal at the 2012 Olympics, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, and was named African Footballer of the Year in 2019. In 2022, he was crowned African Player of the Year for the second time.

Sadio Mané's Wife: Is Sadio Mané married?

Former Liverpool striker married his 18-year-old girlfriend Aisha Tamba in a secret ceremony in Senegal, just six days before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations. Mane first met Tamba's daughter when she was 16 and expressed his desire to marry a woman who prayed well and shuns social media. The wedding took place in Keur Massar, Dakar, and was attended by family, friends, and fellow footballers. Mane left Bayern Munich to join Saudi Arabian Al-Nassr last summer. The event took place just six days before the start of the Africa Cup of Nations.
