“I Didn’t Attend Sista Afia’s Concert Because Of The timing, It Was Ramadan Period” – Fancy Gadam Reveals

Remember, Sista Afia hosted a performance in Tamale the previous year? After Fancy Gadam pulled out of the lineup of artists scheduled to play at the event, the performance, which took place on May 14, 2022, had poor attendance.

 

It has now been revealed why Fancy Gadam was unable to attend last year's Sista Afia event at Tamale Sports Stadium.

 

Sista Afia later voiced his sadness and displeasure with Fancy Gadam for canceling the concert, adding, “I felt like I was sabotaged because of the low attendance.” I knew him personally, and we were extremely close, so it goes without saying that his actions had an impact on me. He outrageously overcharged me, a fellow artist, even though my team was prepared to pay right away. He just chose not to show up.

But Fancy Gadam disclosed in a Tamale interview with Majority Radio that the deal with Sista Afia was finalized just a week prior to the event.

 

“Sista Afia didn't come up to us. I got a call from someone who wanted to perform a show with her and me. Our fee was GHC $100,000. He said, “I collected GH¢50,000 per artiste-to-artiste agreement, which is half of the first cost, after she contacted herself and asked for my assistance.

It took time for us to advertise the concert. The primary problem was timing—it was Ramadan. They won't want to come since we are all Muslims and are fasting. I didn't want to damage my standing. The crucial factor was the time, as Fancy Gadam said.
