“When It Comes To Rap, I See Eno Barony As My Co-Equal” – Sarkodie

Eno Barony declared herself as a nonconformist to the current quo as soon as she entered the rap scene.

Eno Barony has worked hard over the years to break the curse in a scene that is heavily controlled and ruled by men, earning the praise of her male counterparts in the process.

Sarkodie, Ghana's most decorated rapper, couldn't help but praise Eno Barony's ability to spew harsh bars in a way you wouldn't expect from a female musician in a recent interview.

Sarkodie said on the Akwaaba Talk Show that Eno Barony has always been a co-equal when it comes to rapping.

“Eno Barony is a full-fledged rapper. I don't think of her as a female rapper; instead, I think of her as an MC. You can sense the feminine spirit when I mention female rapper… Rap needs to be heard, and Eno Barony is tough, so I don't think she qualifies as a female rapper. He described her as “just a rapper.”

“She slams the bars down hard… Guys could have gotten away with a lot of what she says, but she still does it. When we write as rappers, we have a state of mind, and when I listen to her, that's what I see,” he continued.

In a recent interview with Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), multiple award-winning rapper Okyeame Kwame labeled Eno Barony as Ghana's top rapper ahead of the dominant male names.

“Eno Barony is a phenomenal emcee. I don't believe there is a man rapping in Ghana who is better than Eno Barony, bar for bar. Okyeame Kwame stated, “She is as nice as it gets.”

Eno Barony, born Ruth Eno Adjoa Amankwah Nyame Adom, has competed against numerous heavyweights, having been nominated in a variety of award categories and having a slew of hit songs and awards to her name.
