15 Ghanaian Musicians Who Deserve Grammy Awards.

Ghana music has come far with it's musicians.
Some musicians have won international awards like BET, MOBO, KORA etc., with many getting nominations in several other shows globally.
It can always get better right? We can't wait for the day Ghanaian musicians will be nominated and even win the most prestigious musical award in the world, The Grammys.
Ghanaian reggae musician Rocky Dawuni has set the pace as the first Ghanaian to get a nod at the prestigious awards but we feel more Ghanaian musicians deserve to be nominated.
Here are those Ghanaian musicians, we feel make music way too good to not get a nod at The Grammys.
Atongo Zimba
“No Beer In Heaven” has been on rotation worldwide since it's release in 2004. That song alone should get him a nod in The Grammys, thanks to the composition and the live instruments used in it's production.
Zap Mallet
Little is known about Zap Mallet but he is one of the pioneers of modern Ghana music, popularly known as Hiplife. Zap Mallet was responsible for the production of all the hit songs from the 80's through to the early 2000's. He has produced for Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya among others.
Obrafour
Obrafour is the undisputed king of Ghana rap, I'm not scared to say Obrafour can go head-to-head with all the rappers who have won The Grammys and win hands down if he rapped in English. Obrafour doubles as a songwriter and a composer.
Hammer
Obrafour cannot win a Grammy without his producer-in-crime, Hammer. They have together changed Ghana rap music aka Gh Rap. Hammer has also been responsible for the careers of many renowned musicians like Kwaw Kesse, Edem, Tinny, Dogo, 2 Toff etc.
Efya
Songstress Efya can be compared to Rihanna any day. She has done lots of great collaborations and the mere fact that she can sing in high keynote like many renowned singers qualifies her for a Grammy nod.
Wiyaala
Wiyaala hasn't been in the music industry for long but she has proved herself Grammy-worth with her songs. In a short time, she has performed for the queen of England and has graced several shows globally. Wiyaala's musical style can be compared to that of Anjelique Kidjoe, who is a grammy winner.

Lyrically, Okyeame Kwame is one of the heavyweights of Ghana music. He has been active and produced many quality works for over 10 years. We believe he's Grammy-worthy.
Reggie Rockstone
For inventing one of the longest-running Ghanaian music genres, Hiplife, a fusion of Highlife and Hip Hop, Reggie Rockstone deserves a Grammy nomination.
Stonebwoy
Since the inception of Dancehall music in Ghana, Stonebwoy has been one of the most promising artistes to take Dancehall from Ghana to the world. He has so far won a BET award and bagged several nominations from around the world. Stonebwoy is soaring, thanks to his positive music and non-explicit lyrics. He has also performed with Reggae music greats from around the world.
Daddy Lumba
Daddy Lumba has over 30 albums to his name and all of them were nationwide hits. Daddy Lumba is the epitome of a musician and till date he still releases hit songs and albums.
Kojo Antwi
Popularly called Mr. Music Man, Kojo Antwi has also been reigning for a long time and has over 20 albums to his name, in which all of them were hits. Kojo Antwi's music style cuts across several genres like Reggae, Soul, R&B etc. Kojo Antwi is also an excellent song writer, composer and an instrumentalist. If these doesn't qualify him for a Grammy, then we do not know what will.
Samini
For over 10 years, Samini has been in the Ghanaian music industry scoring hits and making great collaborations. Samini didn't limit himself to just Reggae/Dancehall, he has recorded songs of all genres and has excelled in all of them. He was one of the first Ghanaian musicians to win a MOBO award in the UK.
Kwame Yeboah
Many of you may not know Kwame Yeboah but he's probably the brain and fingers behind your favorite song, he has produced for Craig David, Kojo Antwi, Becca, Pat Thomas etc. He is an instrumentalist and plays all the instruments you can think of. He is the boss of his own band, OBY (Ohia Beye Ya Band) and currently resides in the UK.
FOKN Bois
The FOKN Bois may be controversial but their music resonates social issues crippling Ghana and Africa as a whole and that is exactly what The Grammys reward, music with meaning.

Just like the aforementioned musicians, M.anfest raps about social issues. M.anifest's music talks about the struggles of being an African. He raps in Pidgin, English and Twi and on original African beats. M.anifest's music style has received critical acclaim and we can't wait for him to get called by The Grammys. His song “Someway Bi” was a masterpiece and a should do justice to our claims.
