“African Musicians Need To Promote African Music Than Compete With Each Other” – Gyakie
Gyakie, the promising Ghanaian artist, has asked his colleagues throughout Africa to focus their resources and abilities on promoting African music to the rest of the world rather than competing with one another in the African entertainment industry.
The Afro-pop singer revealed in an interview with Ghana Weekend TV that her craft has been projected to the globe and other music enthusiasts globally who were unaware of her because of her Nigerian fans.
In addition to using the opportunity to market herself to Nigerians, the 22-year-old singer said she met some notable figures in the country's entertainment industry, including Grammy Award-winning artist Wizkid, and shot a video for her “Forever” remix with Omah Lay, which has received over 20 million views on YouTube.
“My Forever song was performing well over there (in Nigeria), but due to the lockdown, they hadn't met me yet.” “I went there after lockdown and people like my personality, so it was a wonderful trip,” she added.
