“Does VGMA Belong To Joe Mettle” – Ras Kukuu Asks

Kojo Kurankye, also known as Ras Kuuku, the Ghanaian dancehall artiste, has questioned why Joe Mettle, the Ghanaian gospel musician, topped the list for this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year category (VGMA).

Joe Mettle was nominated for Artiste of the Year on the prestigious awards show's nominees list, which was announced a few days ago.

Ras Kuuku, in a recent submission on Hitz FM, expressed his confusion as to why Joe Mettle was put on the list:

“All I want to know is what Joe Mettle did this year to earn the Artiste of the Year nomination.” Gospel songs include Mpaebo and Nwansina.

You thought “I Swerve You” was a church song when someone uttered it. Why is it that “Nwansina” isn't a gospel song? Joe Mettle might become MUSIGA's President next year if he works harder.

I was surprised to see Joe Mettle in the Artiste of the Year category instead of Fameye. Which of Joe Mettle's songs comes close to matching Fameye's “Praise”?

However, before the intervie, Ras Kukuu asked on his official Facebook page if the word scheme belonged to Ras Kukuu.
