Award-winning Ghanaian Gospel singer, Joe Mettle has posited that writing hit songs is not difficult. According to him, musicians believe that any song that God gives them will have a positive impact on people’s lives and improve them.
He says that in turn is termed hitsong.
“I don’t think there is any secret to making hit songs. It’s more of what song God gives you and you trust that it will go far, that it will bless lives, and when it does, that’s when people term as hit. No one sits and says I’m writing a hit. You put in your best, put in your all, and just trust God that it will bless lives,” he said.
According to the salient Ghanaian Gospel singer, it’s more what song God blesses an artist with and the trust the musician has that the tune will go far.
Per his narration, once the song in question touches lives and makes an impact on the lives of people as expected, people eventually term such a song as a hit song.
In his opinion, all an artist needs to do in order to get a hit song is to put in his all and trust God that the songs he or she is working on will impact lives.
In Ghana, hit songs are usually recognized as songs that attract massive attention and are streamed or enjoyed by listeners in almost every corner of the country.
Though most recent hit songs are considered worldly music, there are some Gospel songs that have also made waves across the country, some of which includes Nacee’s ‘Aseda’, Piesie Esther’s ‘Mo’ and Joyce Blessing’s ‘Victory’
