We Are Going To Revenge Uruguay, And I’m Part Of That Revenge – Salisu
After years of being persuaded to play for his motherland, Mohammed Salisu, the Southampton defender finally agreed to play for the Black Stars of Ghana and is part of the 26-man squad to represent the country at the World Cup.
In a recent interview with the Southampton media, the left-footed player made it known that Ghana has a score to settle with the Uruguayans, and he will be part of the revenge since they found their ways to take the Black Stars out of the 2010 world cup, which was held in South Africa.
He said:
“Ghanaians are looking forward to that game because we are going for revenge.” “I'm also looking forward to the game, and I need to be with my country and fight for my country.” I think I'm part of the revenge. “When we played against Uruguay at the [2010] World Cup, Ghana was the best African team at that World Cup, and that memory inspires me.”
Meanwhile, Mohammed Salisu scored his first goal for Ghana in their friendly against Switzerland ahead of the World Cup. He scored a goal in the 70th minute.
