Okyeame Kwame, the Ghanaian rapper, has revealed to the world how his father didn't prevent him from pursuing his lifelong passion of being a musician.

Ghanaians wouldn't have known about , the rapper claims, if his father hadn't given him the opportunity to pursue music.

He spoke about his musical path and how he had to stop attending school in order to pursue his musical career in an interview with Onua FM.

He mentioned in the interview that no matter how hard he tried to study, his academic achievement always stayed the same, thus it was not anything to be proud of. He further stated that his father, whom he adored, encouraged him to pursue his education.

“I did the second and third world wars, which are now referred to as resits, multiple times, and it started to resemble a hobby since I was still ignorant despite how many times I sat in class.” “I was doing it for my father, whom I loved, but it came to the point where I started to advance academically, and it wasn't easy for me,” he emphasized.

“My grandma made a call to his university instructor uncle.” I decided to go and rap in Kumasi while we were waiting in line to complete the registration. I told my father about my intention to stop going to school and pursue music, and he was quite accepting. Then my dad said that if I commit to going to college someday, he will let me pursue my ambitions. This occurred in 1996, and Akyeame rose to fame in Ghana in 1997, he said.
