“Love Is A Choice” – Okyeame Kwame

Everyone has their own definition of love: for some, it is an emotion, for others, it is a method of showing devotion to others, but for Okyeame Kwame, love is a choice.

“Based on my knowledge of what love is and based on the studies we’ve done, love is a vow to a partner or to someone or something that you would continually enable that thing or one to flourish no matter what,” he told Brown Berry on the ‘Ryse N Shyne Show on Y 107.9 FM.

He believes that falling in love is a conscious decision that must be followed through on no matter what occurs.

“So technically it is not a two-way traffic,” he remarked, using himself and his wife as an example. It is a choice you must make. I’m with Annica; I adore her if she becomes a crack addict, if she cheats on me, and even if she crushes my heart.”

Love, according to Okyeame Kwame, is a promise made to one’s spouse, and this commitment must be kept no matter what occurs.

He stated that when we tell someone we love them in today’s world, we expect them to perform certain things for us simply because we have told them we love them, but this is not the case.

He stated, “When you say I love you, it doesn’t mean you should just do things that make me happy; it means I’ll help you become the best version of yourself.”

He believes that if we all decide to put in the effort and perceive love as a purposeful decision, it will become simpler for us to love others.
