“God Protect Our Good Cops” – Sarkodie

Ace Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie has responded to the murder of two police officers who were reportedly killed by suspected armed robbers.

Two police officers were shot and killed in Zuarungu, in the Upper East area, after a confrontation with suspected thieves.

According to reports, the Zuarungu District Command got a distress call about a heist at Zuarungu Market that was still going on. Another distress call was received concerning the departure of two police officers who were shot by suspected armed robbers just as the squad was about to be dispatched to the location.

The Bolgatanga Divisional Commander, C/Supt/Dela Dzansi, and the Regional Crime Officer, Supt/Reuben Dugah, led a team of police officers to the crime site, where they located a charred service motorcycle, No. GP 2311, parked outside a supply shop.

According to spot investigations, Const. Emmanuel Akowuah and Const. Adam Suley were on the aforementioned service motorcycle for normal patrols when they unexpectedly appeared at the robbery site and were shot upon.

The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, is believed to have arrived at the scene in the Upper East area to inspect the situation.

In response, Sarkodie noted that being a police officer is one of the most hazardous occupations ever, while paying honor to the two officers who died while fighting crime.
