Why I’m Now ‘Bullgod’ – Bulldog Reveals
Ghanaian artiste manager and entertainment pundit Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, better known as Bullgod, has explained the significance of his previous moniker, Bulldog, and the reasons behind his recent shift to Bullgod.
On Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the well-known entertainment expert appeared on Class Showbiz on CTV, which is presented by Sammy Flex.
He said he altered the moniker from “Bulldog” to “Bullgod” around two years ago.
Then he mentioned that his third child, Adom, was turning three years old. She is the one who calls me Bullgod; therefore, I changed the name when she turned three. He grinned happily. Yes, he insisted, “She always nicknames me Bullgod.”
Sammy Flex questioned whether the young girl had made a simple pronunciation error. The renowned artist's manager said, “I don't know, but Bullgod is what she calls me.”
For me, he said, “I've always noticed that inverting “dog” becomes “god..” “So when she named me that, I clung to it because it had a spiritual meaning for me. To honor her, I had to change the name.
Later, he made the startling admission that his previous name, “Bulldog,” actually meant, “Bull Depends on God.” It's a contraction.
In response to the notion that the name was in reference to the adored canine species, he said, “No, no, no!” He laughed, saying, “You can't blame” people who concur and believe it has to do with his outgoing demeanor and its resemblance to the canine breed.
He made it clear that he was okay with people referring to him by his previous name. That was made by God, and dogs are considered to be man's best buddy.
