How my sudden fame put me in bad mental state – Omah Lay

Popular Nigerian musician, Stanley Omah Didia, a.k.a Omah Lay, has narrated how his sudden fame affected his mental health.

The singer made this disclosure in his recent interview with media personality, Adesope Olajide, on Afrobeats Podcast.

Recounting his initial struggles with fame before getting used to it, Omah Lay said: “At first I struggled, and it put me in a bad mental state because I was still trying to learn my ways.

“However, with time, I got comfortable and learned that I should move at my own pace.

“As soon as I realised that, I became much stronger and began to enjoy my life more.

“If I can put my vulnerabilities in my song, then I can talk about them. My music is all about my real life experiences, and I know the world is listening to it.”

Omah Lay is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer who gained international recognition for his unique blend of Afrobeat and R&B music. Born on May 19, 1997, in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, his real name is Stanley Omah Didia.

Omah Lay's music career took off in 2020 with the release of his debut EP, “Get Layd,” which included hit songs like “Bad Influence” and “Ye Ye Ye.” He has since become a rising star in the African music scene and has continued to release chart-topping singles and albums.
