Walter was born on March 19, 1955, in Idar-Oberstein, West Germany. He grew up in New Jersey and attended Montclair State University before pursuing acting. Willis gained recognition in the 1980s with his role as David Addison Jr. in the TV series “Moonlighting.”

His breakthrough in film came with the action-packed “Die Hard” series, where he played the iconic character John McClane. Willis has received numerous awards for his work, including a Golden Globe and an Emmy. He's known for his versatility and has appeared in a wide range of genres, from action to comedy to drama.

Bruce Willis, a renowned actor, starred in numerous low-budget independent thrillers and science fiction films, primarily produced by Emmett/Furla Oasis and 308 Entertainment Inc. Willis earned an average of $2 million per two days' work, with an average of 15 minutes screentime per film. He was heavily featured in promotional materials, earning the nickname “geezer teasers.” In 2021, the Golden Raspberry Awards created a category for Willis's worst performances, but he appeared confused and had to be fed lines through an earpiece.

The Golden Raspberry Awards retracted its Willis category, stating it was inappropriate to award a Golden Raspberry to someone whose performance was affected by a medical condition. At the time of his retirement, Willis had completed 11 films awaiting release.

On February 16, 2023, Willis's family announced his diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, which can cause difficulties with language and comprehension, misinterpretation of instructions, and misinterpretation of instructions. The family hopes media attention on Willis will raise awareness about the disease.
