“I Hated Shito When I Was In KNUST But It’s Now One Of My Greatest Sauces” – Mr. Eazi
When he initially arrived in Ghana to pursue his postsecondary education, well-known Nigerian singer Mr. Eazi was candid about his feelings and experiences.
He also shared how, despite his initial dislike of shito, a spicy pepper sauce from Ghana, he eventually came to appreciate it.
After earning a mechanical engineering degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Eazi spoke briefly on 3 Music TV about his initial impressions of Kumasi.
He claims that his mother talked him into traveling to Ghana because she thought it would be like Canada, where he was meant to attend school.
The businessman claimed that when he slept at a hotel and was served rice and shito, he had a cultural shock. He said that since he wasn’t used to the food, it made him queasy when he first encountered it.
I was really informed by my mother that I should have attended school in Canada rather than Ghana. “Oh, it’s almost the same thing!” exclaims everyone. It’s beyond me how people could possibly think that.
“I recall that when I was a guest at the hotel, they served shito sauce, which is currently one of my favorite sauces ever.” In actuality, there was dried pepper and something akin to crayfish when they brought the rice and shito. I came close to puking. “It smelled like something I wasn’t used to,” he said.
