“Black Sherif, Fameye, Gyakie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie Need Investments To Keep Putting Ghana On The Map” – Article Wan
Ghaanian dancehall musician Article Wan has asserted that with enough funding, Ghanaian music may reach the same level as Nigerian music.
The celebrated artist claims that there are many undiscovered musical talents in Ghana that aren't given the opportunity to have their songs heard.
According to Article Wan, Ghanaian musicians were making every effort to become more well-known worldwide, but they lacked the funding necessary to produce more volume in their music.
Nigerians are in charge of the Afrobeats industry, and the fact that they have made significant investments has made their music extremely loud. We are doing our hardest, but that kind of commitment is beyond our means.
Since the majority of Ghanaian musicians are self-funded, drawing comparisons between the two nations is much more challenging.
“There are many talented performers in Ghana, especially the up-and-coming ones, that are neglected due to a lack of backing. But to still succeed, you need to have a little grace,” he said, acknowledging the investment.
In addition, Article Wan praised artists like Black Sherif, Fameye, Gyakie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie for bringing Ghanaian music to a worldwide audience while pleading for significant financial support.
