Ghanaian reggae legend, , has stated that while he and a few other Ghanaian musicians are well-known internationally, they are not well-known in Ghana, and to make matters worse, they are not scheduled for gigs during the festival seasons.

He mentioned artists such as Wiyaala, Sherifa Gunu, Worlasi, King Ayisoba, Atongo Zimba, and himself, who are successful outside of Ghana but are not included on the tickets for large events, deepening their unpopularity in the country.

“In Ghana, we exclusively book the most popular artists for events, particularly in December, which isn't very cool.” I know that Wiyaala, Sherifa Gunu, myself, Worlasi, King Ayisoba, Atongo Zimba, and other artists I know are fantastic, but how frequently do they get hired in Ghana?

“We are not being fair to these artists,” he added, adding that “we must make an effort to include them.”

, whose songs include Woara, In Ghana, Beautiful People, My Baby, Ghost Town, Burn One, Rock Your Soul, Nairobi, and Turn It Up, expressed excitement at his Grammy nomination, saying he was looking forward to representing Ghana at the awards, which will take place in April this year.

A win for me is a win for Ghana, therefore all I want to do now is win and make Ghana proud. I'm not used to being nominated, but all I want is for Ghana to win this award, “he said.
