Great Ampong Biography

Isaiah Kwadow Ampong popularly known as Great Ampong is one of the SDA Gospel artists who has been successful in Ghana. Ampong stayed in Twifo Enyasi where he had his elementary school.

He was later dropped out due to the death of his father. Out of 9 siblings, Ampong is the 6th born. According to him, he came to Accra in 1996 as a hustler and to pursue his soccer ambition.

He also said that he had been in galamsey activities in Tarkwa before moving to Accra. Furthermore, he said he did all sorts of jobs including the sale of Daily Graphic while perching in a kiosk at North Kaneshie.

Great Ampong Career

Ampong was a godly young guy who sang at North Kaneshie SDA Church and other major events.  According to him, he once informed his coworkers that it was past time for them to release their music to complement their efforts.

He has a couple of hit songs which include Osofoo Kasa, Hossana, and Jordan, and has been in the music industry since 1996. However, the first song he released was Jordan in the year 2000.

Ampong met Bandex Production after releasing the song titled David bo ns3ku. Some years back, Ampong collaborated with former Mentor finalists Isaac the Showboy, Erico, and Cee to record blockbuster gospel singles.

With his hardworking in the music industry, he has received numerous Ghana Music nominations. He won the Best Collaboration of the year alongside Cee and Issac in 2008. Ampong released an album “Steps to Heaven” in 2008.
