“Azonto is dead like my relationship with Shatta Michy” – Shatta Wale mocks Sarkodie’s Azonto revival (Watch)
Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale has taken a swipe at Ghana's artist of the decade, Sarkodie for trying to revive azonto music and dance.
A few years ago, Azonto music and its corresponding dance made waves across the world, and Ghana basked in its glory, but it wasn't to last.
A few weeks ago Sarkodie has been trying to bring back the Azonto love. He has released “Fa hooki me” and “Azonto revival” which features rapper E.L in an effort to revive it.

In a recent video by Shatta Wale in which he was reacting to rumours he got back with his ex Michy because he did a song for her on her birthday, Shatta compared their relationship to Azonto, saying it was dead and gone as he sang Bisa K Dei's Azonto Ghost song in mockery.
“You see relationship like azonto. Azonto Ghost. Bisa K Dei killed it a long time ago, he said Azonto has turned into a Ghost you people don't understand” he said.
