Davido Makes First Public Appearance After Son’s Death

Since the tragic death of his 3-year-old son Ifeanyi Adeleke last month—who drowned in the family home swimming pool after the youngster was apparently left unattended by the singer's domestic help—Davido has made his first public appearance.

Since the incident, Davido, real name David Adeleke, and his business partner Chioma Rowland have avoided the media and social media, with the exception of the deletion of a concert promotion post on his Instagram that he was supposed to headline this month but has since been postponed until next year.

The multi-award-winning artist, who turned 30 last week, has finally made his first outing after going into hiding for over a month to grieve the unexpected passing of his cherished child.

On Sunday, Davido's uncle, Senator Ademola Adeleke, will be sworn in as the next governor of the state, and pictures of him in his home state of Osun suggest that he was there to witness the ceremony.

Davido, who comes from a prominent family with a solid political heritage, actively campaigned for his uncle ahead of the July 16 gubernatorial election, which resulted in Gboyega Oyetola's loss.

At about the same time that Mr. Oyetola is attempting to have his election victory overturned at the election tribunal, Senator Adeleke begins his four-year tenure.
