Black Sherif, the rapidly emerging musician from Ghana, hinted that he wouldn't let the plaudits that have been pouring into his box since his mainstream debut cause him to become swollen-headed.

The Ghanaian rapper and songwriter, despite being relatively new to the industry, has established himself and is now one of the most sought-after artists in Africa.

Since his debut, he has earned appreciation from a wide range of individuals, and most recently, American superstars Snoop Dogg and Akon have contributed to the chorus of accolades.

Akon particularly praised the Kwaku the Traveller hitmaker during a recent appearance on BBC Radio 1 Xtra. The well-known singer with Senegalese ancestry claimed that is one of his favorite musicians and that, in the absence of a major label, he would sign him.

Right now, has my full attention. I believe it could be because he just brought back the energy I had when I first came out. I recall the first album, mate.

When a friend of mine from Mali named Baako played me the song when I was in New York City, I exclaimed, “Yo, who the F is that?” His voice conveys the suffering, the uphill battle, the difficulties, and the simple desire of a slum youngster to go.

Akon is reported to have remarked on BBC Radio 1Xtra, “It's the way he says it, you know it's authentic, it's nothing that's faked, and if no major label signs him up, they need to get to him before I do.”

In return, Blacko recently told Graphic Showbiz that he is humbled by the two American legends' warm remarks.
