Black Sherif crowned the ultimate “Artiste of the Year” at the 2023 VGMAs
The popular rapper and singer Black Sherif has been named Artiste of the Year at the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), which took place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grand Arena at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The youthful talent managed to defeat tough competition from Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, Piesie Esther, and Joe Mettle to win the prized accolade, despite rumors that the gospel music fraternity would pull a surprise this time as well.

On the evening, Black Sherif also took home three other prizes: Best Music Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year, and Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year.
He also announced exclusively that he was releasing an EP on June 22, 2023, for his fans to enjoy something new from him.
The VGMA is the biggest night in Ghana's music industry and celebrates the achievements of music artistes who have excelled under the year of review.
The event was sponsored by Vodafone Ghana and supported by TV3, KPMG, Yango, and Media General.
