“People Were Contracted To Tarnish My Image On Radio”- Agya Koo  (Video)

Agya Koo, whose actual name is Alex Adu Kofi Mensah, has disclosed how some persons in the Kumawood film industry were charged with slandering his image and reputation on the radio.

In an interview with Angel FM, Agya Koo explained how his problems began when he refused to go naked during the filming of “Okomfo Anokye,” one of his most successful films.

Following his refusal, some industry insiders conspired to smear his name and career by spreading misinformation about him to others and on the radio. He said that people were being paid to go on the radio just to bash him.

However, he established his own movie production, and still, his enemies were not content with what they have already caused so they schemed to collapse his production too.

He revealed that his nemesis connived not to purchase any of his movies and even if his movies are being purchased, they would not sell them, thereby he will lose money.

Mawule Ekpe Peter, the PRO for the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), has urged Agya Koo to name the producers who met to plot his downfall.

In multiple public interviews, Agya Koo alleged that some Kumawood producers, directors, and actors gathered and conspired to get rid of him.

The FIPAG (PRO) has however stated on the Kumasi-based Angel Fm Entertainment Show, hosted by Ike De Unpredictable that the producer never convened to remove Agya Koo from the movie industry.

According to Mawule Ekpe Peter aka Abro, “I have also heard the same allegation from Agya Koo that some Kumawood Producers plotted his downfall but I swear to God that no producer plotted Agya Koo's downfall”

“Ike, Kumawood Movie Industry and Producers still need Agya Koo back to the industry so I will be very happy if Agya Koo will be bold enough to name the producers who plotted against him”Abro said.

He added;

“We need to draw the line and address this issue so Agya Koo should help the executives of FIPAG and name the producers who plotted against him. It will help us address the issue between him (Agya Koo) and the producers so we can work together as a team and revive the industry.”
