Our Job Is To Hold Each Government Accountable – Lydia Forson
Over the years, Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has been one of the few celebrities who have not been affiliated with any political party, but instead have used their platform to criticize any government or governance that they do not believe is appropriate.
On Twitter today, the actress reminded a user who claims to be a staunch supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that our goal as citizens is to hold each government accountable and not to be picky based on party affiliations.
It all started when Lydia Forson posted:
Got electricity on the 1st of this month, something that would usually last for a few weeks is now finished in a week?! Wtf Did tariffs change or it's just me?
And the guy commented by saying:
Under this regime PURC increases tariff anyhow without announcing to the public. But I don't blame them, I blame some of u who added ur voices to make the Mahama regime unattractive. At least in his regime these institutions communicates with us on their next line of action
Lydia Forson later replied the guy by saying:
You're part of the reason why we maybe stuck in the drenches. Your opinion would have held water if we were sitting quiet with this government. Our job is to hold each government accountable not pick and choice based on party affiliation.
